qUirkY

I'm it again...Six Quirks

  1. I'm deathly afraid of grasshoppers. They just jump out at you completely unexpected. And they're way too big to squish. A more recent discovery... I feel the same about toads and geckos.
  2. I cannot sleep unless I have good view of a digital clock. I'm a bit of an insomniac and I need to know what time it is at all hours. I go bonkers if I don't know the time. In fact, if I don't know what time it is, I've lost all hope of going back to sleep. I just lay there wondering if it's almost time to get up or if it's worth going back to sleep or if I should get up and check the time. I'm a pshyco.
  3. My mood is directly linked to what I'm wearing or how I look that day. If I don't take the time to look presentable...even for a day at home...I have a bad day. I am in considerably better spirits when I look cute. If I'm wearing an outfit I don't like or don't feel comfortable in, I tend not to have as good of time somewhere.
  4. I constantly plan parties in my head. Parties for holidays or events or just because. I plan down to every last detail. Do I ever throw one of these parties I dream about? No. Though I would love to...
  5. I have a photographic memory. I thought I had a pretty good one until Jeff told me about John Ingram's memory. But I can memorize things very quickly. It's like I can see the page in my head and read it off the page when I'm trying to recall it. It proves beneficial for memorizing music or taking tests. Also for finding cars in a large parking garage.
  6. I hate reading just for fun. Is that a quirk? I like to read for information, but not for entertainment. I haven't read for entertainment purpose, probably since elementary school.

I really like tagging my family. So Mom, Mike, Jeff, Cindy, Rachel...you're on. I realize I have more family, but you are the ones who are most likely to play along. Love you!

I am completely with you about the clock at night! We went on a cruise where there wasn't a clock in the room, so slept with my watch on my pillow, and when I would wake up in the middle of the night, I'd turn on the lamp to check the time (which of course Evan hated).

And, you HAVE to throw one of those parties and invite us! If you don't, do you want to be my party planner, and throw it at my house? I'm always up for a party!

I love the recent Parkerisms and Reid's words. They are so cute!! I hate sleeping without a clock too. Not to the extent that you do but it drives me nuts. (If I wake up in the early morning, I have to know if its 6:00 or 9:00 because either way I could keep sleeping but should if its 6:00 I don't feel guilty sleeping more.)

I think I'll tag myself. For no certain reason I've lately been thinking of weird things I do-though I don't know if I can think of them NOW. We'll see.

Something else-I have a mini list of parties I'd like to have too. My 25th wedding anniversary will be really fun. And after seeing the newer Phantom I cannot get the idea of a masquerade out of my head. Not in this house, maybe not in any house of my own. But if I don't get to do it before I leave this earth I hope Heavenly Father lets me do it on the other side.

Cute post. I am totally with you on the clock thing as well. You would think it wouldn't bother you, but it does. If we are away from home and there is not a clock right by the bed I have to keep my cell phone nearby so I can check the time whenever I wake up and go to the bathroom.

I with you on the clock thing too! I have to know what time it is or else why go back to sleep if you know you have to get up in 20 minutes? Love this post!

That's funny about having to know the time. I do that during the day with my phone, I'm constantly checking it.

Okay, so we are all clock watchers....I know at girls camp I used to keep my flashlight under my pillow so I could look at my watch too..
In college, that recall of what is on the page and where, and what the words are, really helped in testing for me!! Funny how there are so many things we never talk about, and others are just as quirky as we!!
