So if anyone is dying to know what kind of deals I found on leap day...
We purchased this from IKEA:
I promise it's much cuter in person. Spencer and I have gone our entire marriage without a real bed. We have been sleeping on a mattress and box springs on a little frame...no headboard or anything. Our room always seems to get neglected when it comes to home decor purchases. Up until now, our bedrooms have been so small, it really wouldn't be worth it anyway. Finally it was time. Any guesses as to how much we paid? No wait. Don't guess. Unlike Autumn, I don't have a prize for the winner. We found it in the "AS IS" section without any damages for $104.50. Not bad huh? We had to buy wood slats and a few little things...each sold separately to put it together. But all in all, a steal of a deal.
The comforter, also a deal....$14.99 for the duvet cover and two matching pillow shams. And $24.99 for the down feather duvet. Great day for shopping! The pillow shams aren't up. It was a little much. I realize it looks a little old fashioned now, but wait 'til I pick some killer pillows to go with it. I'm thinkin' bold colors. Although judging by the rate of our last bedroom update, it could be six years before we get the pillows. If we decide to stay in this house we're currently renting, you can bet there will be color on the wall behind. I love color.
Check out the great orange (my current favorite color) on this fabric:
And while I'm on the subject of deals...any guesses to how much I spent on these three kids ties from Children's Place?
...a combined total of $0.03. Eat your heart out Jake! ( I realize they're not silk and considerably smaller, but I couldn't resist.)
