Summer Break: Day 25

We have air!

That's right my friends, we have spent all summer up until yesterday without air conditioning. (Though, I have to admit our low electric bills have been pretty nice.) Our relatively new AC unit was a dud. Faulty parts. Luckily, it was still under warranty, but the specific unit we bought is no longer made and getting a company to help us out was a long, horrendous process. And we have spent a lot of nights where the temp in our house was in the upper 90's PLUS humidity. It has been unbearable.

We've kept our thermostat at 80 since it's been fixed. It's amazing how cold 80 can feel. I will never again take central air for granted.

Mark my words.

You poor things!! The humidity will suck the life out of you! Come stay with us in our 78 degree house- it feels so nice when it's 90 outside!! We never turn it lower- we are cheap!

Oh no! I'm glad that you have air now! When I was pregnant with William the air went out in our upstairs apartment and it was like pulling teeth to get them to come fix it! (And we keep our air around 78 during the day and 75 at night... it feels great when you come in from the 90s outside!)

Ugh...I know how that is. We had our unit break a couple summers ago during a heat wave that was triple digits for days! Enjoy!

So glad you got it fixed before my visit.

We were without air conditioning also about a month ago and it was so unbearable. Luckily our neighbor is in the heating and air conditioning profession and fixed it just after a few days of it going out.

We've also only used our ac a couple of times this summer. 90 plus humidity with no ac sounds awful! Glad yours is back in business.

I feel your pain our AC went out this past weekend. Lucky for us they got us a new unit by the end of the day which was 8 o'clock at night. It was a long hot day. I am sorry you had to go so long. I am glad you have it back.

Our AC broke I was pregnant. I was MISERABLE for the few days it was out. I have never taken it for granted since either--still can't WAIT for its return!
