On How To Get Out Of a Calling

What's the easiest way out of a calling? Move to a new stake.

That's right, last Sunday was my last Sunday teaching primary...hopefully forever. Don't I wish!

Spencer and I put an offer on a house, it's been accepted and we should be closing by Friday. It's only like five miles from here, but it's a whole new stake. I'm a little bummed. I really stepped out of my comfort zone to make some friends here. I hate to have to start fresh...I'm not sure I can do it again. I will still live close to all these other girls...closer to some. Hopefully we can stay friends. I think they're great. But our friendship only started 3 or 4 months ago. It's not deep rooted. It's sometimes hard to keep that up. So wish me luck. Everyone talks about what a great ward this is. Honestly, everyone we have mentioned this to has told us that this is the ward to live in.

We tried to stay in the ward, but our realtor talked us into looking at this house. We of course fell in love and it will soon be ours. The house was a foreclosure so we got it for significantly less than what the rest of the houses in the neighborhood are going for...like tens of thousands less. It's about ten years old. It has brand new...never been lived on...carpet. Freshly painted walls and ceilings. Crown molding. Granite counter tops. Tile floor. A granite fire place. Four bedrooms. Two and a half baths. A master closet bigger than our bedroom in our last house. A front porch. A huge fenced in back yard. The living room/dining room area is set up well for throwing killer parties (as soon as we get some furniture). Seriously, the house is just about perfect. It seems way too good to be true.

I've been waiting to blog about it until I had pictures. But I never remembered my camera when we have gone to look at it. I'll get pictures up one of these day. If my blogging slows down the next couple weeks, this is why.

No lie I have chills. Oh WOW. That sounds awesome. 5 miles can work-especially for a house like that-for mega bucks cheaper. Hooray for foreclosures (if they work in your favor)...I can't wait to see pix!!!

Wow!!! How awesome that you found such a great house!! I am so happy for you! And, congrats on getting out of the primary calling....(I am still in YW... but actually, I realize it isn't so bad really... I was getting nervous that I was about to get called to nursery because they were making changes there and my girls are 17 months old- dodged that bullet for now!) I was actually thinking about you the other day wondering if you were going to move- knowing you said your current home was temporary.

I don't worry about you making friends- you may have gone out of your comfort zone, but you are also so naturally friendly. :) Good luck in your new ward with your new calling (whatever it may be!) Can't wait to see the new house! :)

That's awesome that you found a house...sounds awesome at least! You will make friends fast...you are so great!

When I saw the name of your blog I was thinking that you were going to give tips-I got excited. Trent and I have been in our ward for over 5 months and we have yet to get a calling, no complaints here. I just think it is funny because just recently they have finally stopped asking Trent to introduce himself...after 5 months!!! Anyway, want to know how we haven't gotten a calling? Run...blend in...etc. It's great...I have a feeling it is going to end soon though because Trent was cornered a couple of weeks ago...

It was fun while it lasted though!

I am first of all, very jealous of the new house!! I am so happy, though for you to have one of your own there and not have to rent anymore! I cannot wait to see pics and since it is so big, we will have to visit!!
So happy to hear about your calling, I know you will miss it terribly!! I taught Leah's class Sunday and nearly chewed my arm off it was so dull! I don't think I want to be back in there anytime soon!!
Love the old posts idea- and I can't believe it's been a year already! Good luck packing and moving- we will be waiting patiently for your return!

Congrats on the new house!!! I know what you mean about moving and friend Gene and I just moved into the forth place in not quite 3 years and we are only going to be here for 3 more months making friends is hard and keeping them when you move is a challenge. Good luck and hopefully we will be as lucky as you in finding a house in 3 months!

Okay, so disregard my last comment about you moving, I had not yet read this post. Congrats on the new house! So exciting! I am jealous. I would love 4 bedrooms. It is beginning to feel like we are busting at the seams in our house now. But we'll hold out as long as we can. Can't wait to see pictures! And good luck with everything.

HEY JEALOUSY!! I cant wait to have my own house. Cameron makes pretty good money and we still cant buy a house in California. Actually, I take that back. We can buy a house if we want to move out of Brea...but who wants to do that? Not me. We were actually looking to buy in Corona...but we cant bring ourselves to say goodbye to this place. Maybe next year...I dont know. All I know is that I am happy for you and your family...Now go paint that wall ORANGE!

Congrats on the new house! It sounds beautiful and I can't wait to see pictures:) The thought of packing and moving again doesn't sound fun but you are a trooper. I think it's a good idea to rent when you get to a new area. If I were to do it all over again that's what I would have done. Then you can scope out the area and the ward and make a better decision on the right place for you. I'm glad Texas is working out for your family!

Awesome!! You HAVE to post pics A.S.A.P. I'm so happy for you. Props on the foreclosure! I'm also secretly happy that you get to get out of primary. I have been in Primary ever since Jacob and I have been married. 7 YEARS!! I'm kinda burned out now. I just feel like a babysitter. Is is wrong to ask to be released?? I've never done that before but I don't know what to do anymore. I feel like they just stick me in primary every ward I go to. I can't get away from it! Either it's where I'm supposed to be to learn something or every ward I'm in needs bodies in primary and I look like the primary type. I at least want to do something different, like song leader or secretary or something!... Anyway, sorry about the rant...it's been an issue lately...

So don't you worry about me...I am going to be stalking you!!! By the way I can bet that you won't be in primary....I have informed my sister in law Danielle about you and how wonderful you are and she is the most outgoing person alive...your first sunday she is going to nab you and introduce you to everyone..so you won't even have to go out of your comfort zone! I will miss seeing you and your cute kiddos every sunday but we will still do girls night...I promise...it just might get bigger because you will have to invite your new girlfriends from your new ward! I can't wait to see your beautiful new house, if you need help with anything just let me know. By the way, this is my longest message ever...I think your other friends are rubbing off on me!
