Do You Play Croquet?

The one good thing I've found about my primary calling is how easy it is to plan Family Home Evening lessons. My kids are only slightly younger than the kids I teach. I simplify and give the abbreviated version of my lesson. And they love the activity. Nice huh?

Last night the weather was so nice and Spencer's class was canceled so we pulled out our croquet set. I bought it for Spencer for his birthday or Father's Day or something after we had only been married a month. We don't use it often, but when we do, you can guarantee fun times. Although I get a little irritated because Spencer always wins. Just as I had said these words out loud last night, I hit a lucky shot across the field, through two loops, and hit the post to win the game. I don't count on that happening again. Spencer's a pro.

Gray did join us outside, although not in the game. He got no pictures. He was wearing the ugliest outfit known to man and I don't want photo's to document it.

***Spencer...the boys got equal photo sharing this time. I did it for you.

How fun! We need to break out our croquet set one day soon. When we were first married we would go to the park and play all the time. Not as much anymore... our yard is barren and prickly. Rich would ALWAYS win. William would love it though. Love the pictures. And yea for easy FHE lessons!!!

How fun!!!!!! I have days like that when I refuse to let my kids go outside or get their picture taken. It makes me feel better that other moms have days like that. :)

When I was a little kid, we played all the time, but I have to admit, I was never very good- I had fun watching everyone else! Those are great pictures of everyone, and I highly doubt Gray had on hideous clothes- I know you! Your boys always look great!

this was a tradition in Aaron's family for a long time- we called the "annual killer croquet toinament" (pronounced that way, and it was more often than annual) we always had a ball! The pictures are great! I, too have found that primary lessons make great FHE lessons.

Cute pics....you look great!! I was thinking how sad it is that the last time I saw you Reid was just a little baby and Parker was a little Tike. They are so big!

Katie the more I read on your blog the more I believe your mom when she said we would have been good friends had we only grown up together. I wanted you to know how much I loved reading your story about little Ried, I of course cried, and found so much comfort in your words. I too had a child with Chromosomal Genetic defects and I felt so scared about being so young and having to figure out how to parent her. She isnt here with us today but I also look forward to the day I get to watch her walk! I enjoy learning more about you and am thankful I found ya!

So much fun. I loved playing that when I was younger. We use to hit other peoples balls down the hill. That was a sure way to win. Love how the boys are dressed for the formal game of croquet!!!
