I can't let the morning go by without mentioning the passing of President Hinckley, our beloved prophet. Although my own selfishness makes me tear up a little, I am happy he can finally reunite with his dear wife whom he obviously loved very much. I will miss his wit and wisdom, but mostly his unfailing love for the gospel of Jesus Christ and it's people everywhere.
President Hinckley is the prophet of my lifetime. I spent half of my life with him serving as prophet, seer, and revelator of this gospel. He is the first prophet I have much memory of. I remember so many of his addresses and specific council. I am so grateful for his council about families and his work to increase the number of temples on the earth. My love for the temple and regular temple attendance is in large part because of him. Especially my time in Columbus. We had a temple there thanks to President Hinckley. I am so grateful for his life and his divinely inspired words.

I have been singing We Thank Thee O God For a Prophet all morning. I too love Pres. Hinkley and will truly miss him. How grateful I am to have known him. What a wonderful reunion must be going on on the other side of the veil with his beloved wife.
It is amazing to me how quickly the news went around. I got three phone calls within an hour of his passing...even before it was on the church website or BYU TV.
I am a little sad for myself adn my kids and a also happy for him and his wife. We told our kids this morning and they were sooo sad. He is their prophet. He will be missed.

Ditto to all your thoughts...he will be missed, but his legacy will continue on!
I'm sure it is a great reunion. For that I'm happy.
You said it perfectly.
Well said Katie! You are a GREAT writer! You should write a book!
We all will miss Gordon B. Hinckley so much! What an amazing and truly inspirational man! He is def. the reason for my love for the Temples as well!
I am so glad my kids have a testimony of him, Autumn has been singing the "prophet song" all day.
I am with your mom...its amazing how fast news travels.
When I first heard, I felt relief for him..is that weird?? I just feel that he has been different and so sad since his sweet wife passed. Pres. Hinkley will always hold a special place in the hearts of our generation.
