The Bathroom Plan

We were at the fabric store last week. Reid had to use the bathroom, of course. What is it with that kid and public restrooms? I swear he leaves no bathroom unturned.

I assisted him in the unbuckling of his pants and stood him in front of the toilet.

He then informed me that he needed to sit first. "I have a bathroom plan. First poop. Then pee," he told me as he held up his fingers.

He forgot to include singing and chatting in that plan. Reid does most of his conversing while on the pot.

I think three people came and left the stall next to us during that duration. (How many people seriously use JoAnn's bathroom?) I'm pretty sure every one of them heard me say in frustration, "Reid! This is not time to chat. It's time to do your business and get out of here."

Having three boys has made it much easier for me to use bathroom language on a daily basis.

You're welcome.

In other Reid news... He recently picked up Beyonce's Single Ladies. Only he sings it, "All the single leggies." Which is really funny coming from a boy who wears a prosthetic leg.

That's funny! My kids always have to use the bathroom at the most inconvenient times and places. And bathroom talk gets easier and more used the more kids you have, boy or girl!

I will never hear Beyonce's song the same way. I love his take on the lyrics.

Your kids are just so funny! That's a crack up. I hate public restrooms. I have the opposite problem with Hannah, she is so busy that she will hold it for days. She never wants to go anywhere but home.

That is also pretty funny about Reid's version of "All the single ladies". I bet it's hilarious to hear.

Oh my gosh Katie, I was rolling!!! I could just hear Reid talking away with you. Erika used to sing. She would make up her own songs. One such song went something like this:
"If you go poopy in the toywet, yo tummy it feels betto!"

Ohhhh, I remember the days . . . shopping with pre-schoolers and all the many potty stops. It got tricky for me though, when we had a boy that was kind of too old to go into the girls bathroom, but kind of too young to go into the men's by himself. Parenting is so complicated!

Okay... "Single Leggies"? Hilarious!
And William refuses to go in public bathrooms... he's always afraid of the automatic flush... or that the flush will be too loud.

LOVE IT! I soooo feel your pain- ever since Kenny was potty trained- we have to stop at every restroom- he has only gotten mildly better! And, of it course it started all over again with the girls (but even worse....) I don't think Jacob ever did that though. That is a really cute story!

You have to love kids and all their plans. The things they say or sing for that matter too.
