House of Dread

My mom posted a picture of her cute Halloween decor on her blog. This is it:

Cute baker's rack, huh?

And being the non-Halloween lover that she is, her decorations put mine to shame. Pitiful. I have very little resembling Halloween decorations...3 serving dishes and 1 BOO sign that lights up. I know, I'm a sorry excuse for a Halloween lover. My kids were begging to put up Halloween decorations a few weeks ago. I was more than happy to oblige, so I searched my house inside and out and this is what I came up with...for a small corner of my home. I was hoping for much better, but this had to do. There are few more things...candles and a lantern that I just didn't get a good picture of. It's a good start, but not put together well enough...it's lacking. Hopefully it will give me a good starting place for next year.

And last night we hosted a little dinner party. At the last minute, I decided for a slightly spooky decor. I wish I would have thought about it earlier and come up with something a little better. It didn't matter...the company was GREAT. Plans have already been made for the next dinner together. Maybe I'll like Texas one of these days.

Sounds like you are having a fun time in Texas! Halloween decorations are so much fun, I am sure next year you will have fun finding new decorations

So fun! I'm glad your decorations don't consist of paper cut outs on the windows. It's better to have QUALITY than quantity. Like you said, it's a good starting place for next year.

I want more info and pictures of the dinner party!

Ditto on your moms comments.
However, I am sad to say that I am a little disappointed in your decorating for this holiday, since it is your favorite!! There is so much out there- go shopping!! Now is the time to get new stuff for next year! I always do, and then put it away, and then when I get out my stuff, I am like, "wow- this is awesome- when did I get that?" I love it! I know I got some new Christmas stuff I am dying to re-see again!!
I am kidding, You are an amazing decorator, and I want to see more!!!

I'm not a huge fan of Halloween, so I'm lacking in the decor department also. I love fall things but I just can't bring myself to get a whole lot for Halloween. I think your decorations turned out cute and you can simply add to it each year. How fun to have a dinner party. I wish I was there. Can't wait to see your costumes.

You are so good. I wish I had the guts to host a dinner party here in my ward. we actually just got our ward split. So maybe I will have to do something for Christmas.
Love the decor, I really dont have much either!

I was looking at Halloween decor ideas today. I only have harvest type things-and only a tiny amount of them. I like what I have but am inspired to do some different pumpkin type stuff. I hope we end up doing it in the next few days. I love the dark photo edges.
