Guess Who's Coming To Dinner?

Well, it's more like guess who CAME to dinner...

We got a visit from our very dear Ohio friends...Abbey and Ross and their two cute kiddos. They stayed for more than just dinner, though dinner might be why they came. We spent every Easter in Ohio together with a big Easter dinner. So at Abbey's request, we celebrated Easter in September. And don't worry HC police (a phrase I'm stealing from Autumn) I didn't eat any of the unhealthy part of dinner and I skipped dessert. So did Abbey.

It was so fun for me to have a girlfriend around for a few days. Though there are a lot of great women here...potential girlfriends for sure...it takes years to really build a relationship like that. It was nice to have some one to go walking with in the morning and stay up late working on crafts with. I really enjoyed our girl time. Thanks for making the trip out. I know big road trips with small kids are not easy.

Besides that, it was so good for Reid. Reid and their little boy, Ross, are just 3 1/2 months apart. When we moved, they were friends, but still young enough to be in the independent play phase. They hardly talked. This time they got along so well. I couldn't believe it. I've never seen Reid interact with a friend. It was so cute and so good for him. He's been left in the dust lately. He developed both a stutter and an imaginary friend about the time Parker started school. Both left when Ross came and neither one have come back. When they were leaving, I watched Reid pat Ross on the back and say, "You're my best friend." Adorable. He's talked about his best friend a ton the past week and how much he misses him. Reid needed that visit as much as I did.

Some highlights from their visit...

Pajama Time

Bowling

(Someone likes bowling.)

(Gray and Annie sharing a little stroller time.)

(Reid cared more about the snacks I packed then bowling)

(Check out that technique!)

(I didn't get many pictures of this sweet baby Annie. Probably because I forgot she was around. She was the most quite, sweet, mellow baby I've ever met.)

(Sorry Abbey...this is the only picture I have of you from the trip. But she had a baby 4 month ago. Doesn't she look phenomenal?)

(Daddy Ross...as my kids call him.)

Playin' Around

These best friends even got to share the infamous piano bench for every meal.

Seriously guys...thanks for making the trip. It was so fun to see you all. I hope you're home safe by now.

So fun!! I didn't even know they were coming! The boys look overjoyed!! They are smiling so much bigger in the together pics!! Love that they all love bowling!! Celeste is much like Reid- she is always wanting the snack that I pack for wherever we go! Annie is just that sweet all the time- I could just eat her up!!
Glad you had girl time- it means more than you say, I know!

Hey if I had Abbey's back side I probably wouldn't mind that picture being posted. YES, she does look tremendous-for just having a baby or not. I love the Easter in September. So far as I can tell, any holiday mock up at your house is worth the drive to TX-and the company, of course. :) I am in love with the pj pic-pics like that make me look forward to having boys (hopefully). I am also in love with Reid's hair. SO cute about how well they played together!

Sounds like a good time! How old is Reid?? I think he and Derek are around the same age. Just wondering how bowling was for him. Never thought of taking Derek, but maybe it would be fun.
