Rising Above the Blues

You can all applaud now. I just spent some time stepping way out of my comfort zone. I called some of the young moms in my ward trying to organize a play group. I could have just made the handouts and waited to see who showed up, but I'm so glad I called...for several reasons. One, I would have scheduled it right during a Joy School that several of the moms run. Two, these women will feel more obligated to come because they got a personal phone call (and let's face it, I want a good turn out). And three, because stepping out of my comfort zone makes me feel good about myself. I feel like I've accomplished something worthwhile today. I'm one step closer to making some new friends and one step closer to rising above the blues.

February 13 is the big day. Wish me luck.

Good for you!! That is awesome. This is crazy. My sister who lives in Houston just emailed about doing a luncheon (a new thing in their ward) and was asking for ideas to make next time better.

way to go... you are way more brave than I am. I went years without having a playgroup until a lady moved in a did what you did. I hope you have fun!
